Salvation

Worship Devotional from 9/11/22

Psalm 37:39-40:

“The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord, their refuge in a time of distress. The Lord helps and delivers them; He will deliver them from the wicked and will save them because they take refuge in Him.”

Titus 3:4-7:

“But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us — not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy — through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. He poured out this Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior so that, having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.”

The good news is hear, loud and clear: the Lord our God has made a way through Jesus Christ for sinners to be saved from eternal judgment! Because Jesus, the Son of God, was offered up as a perfect and spotless Lamb to be a sacrifice for our sins and iniquities, shedding His righteous blood for the payment of our debt which we could never pay, dying the death we deserve on a criminal’s cross, we who were guilty can now stand free and clean before the only true and living God, who is holy and praised forever. Our sins have been erased, covered by the blood of Jesus, and we have been forgiven because of the mercy of our God who loves us with an everlasting love. Having died for our sins, Jesus then rose up from the grave, claiming eternal victory over death itself. Now all who will simply come to Him in faith, who put their hope and trust in His name, can be saved from God wrath and inherit the promise of eternal life through Christ who lives and reigns forever on high! This is our salvation, and it is the only salvation for mankind. Let us rejoice in it, and then go forth to declare God’s triumphant mercy to a desperate world that is broken, lost, and dying. Our God saves!

Acts 4:11-12:

“This Jesus is ‘the stone rejected by you builders, which has become the cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people, and we must be saved by it.”

Ephesians 2:1-10:

“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler who exercises authority over the lower heavens, the spirit now working in the disobedient. We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and we were by nature children under wrath as the others were also. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens, so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.”

Hebrews 9:27-28:

“And just as it is appointed for people to die once — and after this, judgment — so also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.”

Revelation 7:9-10:

“After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were robed in white with palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
