Alaska Medical Missions Fairbanks is an organization set up to receive and distribute medical supplies for the mission field. We have a wonderful warehouse to store the supplies which has been up and running for several months now.

AMMF communicates with churches, medical professionals and businesses as to how they can participate in the acquisition or distribution of supplies. It is especially gratifying that even as the warehouse is being stocked, there already have been people who have gone to Indonesia, the Philippines, and Africa with shipments of supplies. Many needy people have been helped with these supplies.

Alaska Medical Missions Fairbanks grew out of a recognition of a surplus of medical supplies in the United States and the need for those supplies in other countries. 

We decided to join forces with AMM Anchorage to develop a warehouse in Fairbanks with the vision to see supplies go to third world countries.  In November 2004 AMMF had its Open House and thus began facilitating the logistics of connecting resources in the Fairbanks area to urgent needs for medical supplies in developing areas all over the world.  The AMMF warehouse receives donations of fully functioning medical supplies and equipment from a number of sources, including military hospitals, manufacturers, private medical facilities and individuals. 

Our all-volunteer staff collects, inventories and stages these donated items in our warehouse facility, after which they are distributed by short-term and long-term mission teams, church youth groups, career missionaries and others traveling via Fairbanks to impoverished countries.  The AMMF warehouse is located at 3512 International St. in Fairbanks.

In March 2006 the first surgical team made up of doctors and nurses from Fairbanks went to Indonesia and performed over 60 surgeries.  They also taught in the hospital with hospital staff and doctors.  AMMF has also donated supplies to Ethiopia, Mexico, and Honduras.
