FAQ
FAQ @ Door of Hope tab_right

How big is your church?
Door of Hope has approximately 800 members, which is one of the reasons why we provide two services, Saturday night and Sunday morning.

What denomination are you associated with?
Door of Hope is a non-denomination church.

Do you have programs for youth and children?
During our services we have "Supernova" for grades K-6th along with nursery, pre-school and Jr. High classes. On Wednesday nights we offer "Unleash" (ages 8-12) and "Infuse" youth group (ages 13-19). Click here to go to the children's page or here to go the youth page to find out more information!

How many pastors do you have?
We have eight pastors. Click here to get to know them more!

Is there a dress code for your church services?
We have a very diverse crowd on both our Saturday and Sunday services--everything from dress slacks and dresses to jeans and t-shirts. Just come as you feel comfortable!

What is your statement of beliefs?
Click here to read our statement of beliefs!

What is the worship/music style during your services?
Our worship style is influenced by Vinyard and Hillsong. Drums, guitars, and keyboards are most commonly heard during our worship times. Some people stand and sing, others dance, others raise their hands.

What is the "culture" of your church like?
Door of Hope is truly a diverse church. We have members who come from many different denominational backgrounds and religions. We have everyone from business men and women to ex-hippies and punks.

Where do the pictures on your website come from?
All the pictures of people you see on our website are members of our church.

What are small groups and how do I join one?
Our small groups are groups of people (usually 10-20) that meet on a regular basis in someone's home. These groups are designed to help everyone get connected in the church, provide a safe environment for learning and accountability and provide a means for fellowship and friendships to grow. Click here to learn more about small groups and to browse our list of current groups!

What is the average age of people in your church?
At Door of Hope, we have everyone from age 0 to age 99, but our largest portion of members would be in the 20-40 range.

What are your service times?
Saturday night service starts at 6pm, Sunday morning service starts at 10am, "Unleash" (ages 8-12) is Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm and "Infuse" (ages 13-19) is Wednesday nights from 7-9pm.

How long are your services?
2 hours each.

Where are your church offices located and what times are they open?
Our office building is the first DOH building on your left as you come up Fairhill Road. Our offices are open M-F from 9:30am-5pm except on Tuesdays, which is open 11:30am-5pm. The offices are also closed on holidays.

Since your church is up a steep hill, does that make winter driving impossible?
The hill is intimidating, but we gravel it before and after each service during the winter to help keep everyone safe coming and leaving. We also have an alternative route in case the roads are too terrible. Click here for a map (including the alternate route) to our church!

Do you record your services?
Yes we do. You can order sermon messages by filling out an order form at the entrance of the church. The price is $3 per cd or cassette. We also have a podcast that you can download from our website here.

What kinds of ministries does your church support?
Door of Hope supports a variety of ministries--from full-time missionaries living overseas to an alternative youth skate park located here in Fairbanks. Click here to learn more about our full-time missionaries or click here to learn about ministries we support locally in our community.
